The Bus Entry dialog

Summary

This dialog provides controls to specify the properties of a Bus Entry object. A bus entry is an electrical design primitive that is used to connect a wire to a bus line. It has the ability to allow two different nets to connect to the same point on a bus without shorting.

For information on how a placed bus entry object can be modified graphically directly in the workspace, see Graphical Editing.

Access

The Bus Entry dialog can be accessed during placement by pressing the Tab key.

After placement, the dialog can be accessed in one of the following ways:

  • Double-click on the placed bus entry object.
  • Place the cursor over the bus entry object, right-click then choose Properties from the context menu.

Options/Controls

  • Location X1/Y1 - the current X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) coordinates for the first end point of the bus entry. Edit these values to change the position of this end point in the horizontal and/or vertical planes respectively.
  • Color - click the color sample to change the color of the bus entry using the standard Choose Color dialog.
  • Location X2/Y2 - the current X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) coordinates for the second end point of the bus entry. Edit these values to change the position of this end point in the horizontal and/or vertical planes respectively.
  • Line Width - the width of the line used to draw the bus entry. Available widths are: Smallest, Small, Medium, and Large.
  • Locked - enable this option to protect the bus entry from being edited graphically.
An object that has its Locked property enabled cannot be selected or graphically edited. Double-click on the locked object directly then disable the Locked property to graphically edit the object.
